Cadillac Escalade-V upgrade by Hennessey has Lamborghini pace
Another week, another Hennessey creation. This time, the Texas brand has worked its magic on a Cadillac Escalade-V, giving it an upgrade of epic proportions and speed to rival a Lamborghini Hurucan EVO (see for yourself in the video at the bottom).
So what has Hennessey done? For starters, the company’s engineering team has added almost 50% more power to the Cadillac, bringing it up to 1,005bhp, as well as 30% more torque to 1195 Nm. To achieve this, the Escalade-V has been fitted with several new features, including a high-flow supercharger, custom camshaft, ported cylinder heads and high-performance throttle body.
These upgrades give the 6.2 litre V8 powered SUV a 0-60mph sprint time of 3.6 seconds. As a seven-seater with all-wheel drive, the Escalade-V weighs almost double the amount of a Hurucan, yet the video below shows the SUV’s quicker sprint off the start line.
John Hennessey, company founder and CEO: “A full size luxury SUV has no business beating supercars, but the way the H1000 Escalade-V holds its own against legendary performance cars like the Huracan Evo is insane! If there’s a faster, more fun way to move seven people in this much comfort, I’m yet to find it!”
Production has already got underway in Texas, but potential customers will have to reserve a build slot for 2025 as this years’ allocation has already sold out. No more than 100 units will be produced for the 2023 and 2024 model years.
