Hat Trick of Award Wins for Renault Kangoo
Renault has added a trio of awards to its trophy cabinet thanks to the success of its Kangoo and Kangoo E-Tech. The Kangoo was named Compact Van of the Year at the What Van? Awards, while the E-Tech won the Electric Van of the Year category. There was further success at the DrivingElectric Awards where the E-Tech added Best Electric Van to cap a stellar year for the French brand.
The Kangoo’s reputation hasn’t waned in recent years as the Compact Van of the Year win was the third victory in a row in that category, reaffirming its status as the leading vehicle when it comes to choosing a small van. It has now been in production for 24 years and across three generations since 1997.
Available in petrol or diesel, it comes with 20 advanced driver assistance systems, an EASY LINK infotainment system with an 8-inch touchscreen, automatic headlights and smartphone integration with Andriod Auto and Apple CarPlay.
James Dallas, Editor of What Van?, said: “Boasting a wealth of innovative and practical features the Renault Kangoo raised the bar in the compact van sector and continues to set the benchmark for others to aspire to.”
The pure electric Kango E-Tech, which launched in 2022, has a range of up to 186 miles with an 80% charge achieved in around 43 minutes thanks to its flexible charging. It has a towing capacity of 1,500kg and can carry a load of 764kg.
Speaking about the Kangoo E-Tech electric, the DrivingElectric judges commented: “They will serve as a great introduction to electric commercial vehicles for businesses making the switch.”
The Renault Kangoo is priced from £20,250 plus VAT, and the Kangoo E-Tech electric starts at £32,350 plus VAT.
