First images of refreshed Skoda Octavia released ahead of premiere

Skoda has released sketches of the newly refreshed Octavia ahead of the digital global premiere on February 14th.

After its launch in 1996, and now in its fourth generation, the latest iteration has been given something of a facelift, with new sporty LED Matrix beam headlights, redesigned bumpers and an updated grille.

The update to this generation of Octavia comes four years after the start of production and the model will continue to be available as both a hatchback and estate, along with Sportline and range topping vRS versions.

The Octavia has been a huge success for Skoda and over seven million Octavia’s have been delivered since its launch 28 years ago. It also holds the title of Europe’s most popular estate car since 2016 and won the Red Dot Award in 2020 for outstanding product design.

While there’s no word yet from Skoda regarding powertrains, there will likely be a selection of 1.5-litre petrol, 2.0-litre diesel and mild hybrid options available. Such is the current direction of the automotive world, there may well be a plug-in version coming to the market also, as we have seen with Skoda’s Kodiaq and Superb.
