A decade on from the launch of the first Seven 485, Caterham has unveiled two Final Editions of its fastest production car to be released in Europe and the chance to own a piece of Caterham history. The release will see only 60 Seven 485 FE (Final Edition) and 25 485 CSR FE made with prices starting from £58,000 excluding VAT and taxes.

Both models have a 2.0-litre, four-cylinder Ford Duratec engine that delivers 224hp and 8,500 rpm. The Final Editions are capable of reaching 0-62mph in 4.1 seconds while a top speed of 139mph is achievable. Caterham also says these are “the most powerful EU-6 compliant Sevens available.”

The 485 FE is available in a standard and large chassis, whereas the 485 CSR FE can only be purchased in the large chassis with inboard suspension.

Every new vehicle comes with the exclusive Final Edition finish which features Sports Hex Black, Alcantara and black leather seats with Final Edition embroidery, carbon dashboard, a fully carpeted interior, satin black stripes, black badging, a unique numbered plaque and a choice of five premium colours.

Caterham will also make 10 units of the Seven 480 FE exclusively for the Japanese market.

Olivier Jouanne, European Territory Manager for Caterham, said: “Revealing our Seven 485 Final Edition is a bittersweet moment for us and our customers. On the one hand, it marks the end of an era for one of our most iconic European models. On the other, with only a limited number available, customers now have the possibility to own the last highest-revving, naturally aspirated Seven to ever be produced, giving them the chance to drive a piece of Caterham history.

“It’s been an incredible decade for the 485, which was an incredibly popular product in Europe, particularly our DACH markets. For now, we are looking ahead to the additional production and engineering capacity, that will give us the space to focus on expanding our European product offering.”
