BMW M Driving Experience launched in UK
BMW is offering a brand new programme which allows drivers to immerse themselves in its M range.
The UK Driving Experiences joins ten other participating international markets, which saw over 100,000 people take part globally in 2025. People can expect expert tuition in advanced driving techniques in a range of BMW M cars and other BMW models, with Racetrack Training, Drift Academy and Driving Dynamics the new activities on offer.
What are the rules?
Several activities in BMW M cars are available to try, and to get in, all participants must have a full, valid, in-date driving licence which has been held for a minimum of two years. As well as this, drivers must have no more than six penalty points and without any serious motoring offences within the last five years.
Racetrack Training
The premium offering from BMW takes place at Silverstone and sees attendees take on an immersive, full-day programme behind the wheel of a BMW M model. Participants can choose to take one of the BMW M2, BMW M3 Saloon and Touring and BMW M4 Coupe around one of the world’s most famous racetracks, while also benefitting from comprehensive theory sessions which teach more about the modern M range. Areas covered in the on-track exercises include mastering the ideal racing line, advanced car handling and full circuit laps with a professional instructor.
Costing £1,600 for a full day, this activity is only open to people who are 25 and over.
Drift Academy
Aimed at both experienced and novice drivers, the Drift Academy teaches the art of drifting in a safe, supervised environment, with half-day sessions.
A specially prepared area with skid pans is where attendees will drive a high-performance BMW M model — either an M2, M3 or M4. Throttle control, advanced steering techniques and car recovery are all on the agenda during the half day at Thruxton, which costs £500 and is only open to those who are 25 and over.
Driving Dynamics
For an activity more centred around the fundamentals, the Driving Dynamics course offers a full-day experience designed to teach basic ‘vehicle control skills’ alongside ‘advanced driving techniques’.
Guests are given practical knowledge to apply to everyday driving situations, in the hope of giving them greater confidence and safety on the road. For this one, participants will get behind the wheel of a 2 Series or 3 Series during the eight hour day, which is held at Thruxton. The Driving Dynamics day costs £450 and you must be 18 or over to participate.
