Bentley Blower Jnr Begins Durability Testing with Christmas Mission

The Bentley Blower Jr, a collaboration between The Little Car Company and Bentley’s Heritage Collection, will be put through a durability programme of more than 5,000 miles and across three continents before production begins in 2024. The first mission? Collecting a Christmas tree from snowy Switzerland.

Inspired by the original 1929 4½-litre Supercharged Bentley - just 85% in scale - the Jr has been crafted entirely by hand with authentic materials used on the original reused. The bodywork is built in two sections and carbon fibre is used to create the rear structure. This is all covered in the same type of impregnated fabric as the original, while leather buckled bonnet straps keep the hand-crafted aluminium bonnet fastened.

The car is built around a 48V electric powertrain that contains a 15 kW (20hp) motor, mounted across the rear axle, giving it a top speed of 45mph in the UK and EU. It has a range of around 65 miles and will be fully road legal, with tandem seating for two adults and seatbelts. Modern Brembo brakes at the front and drums at the rear provide stopping power while the chassis uses leaf springs and scale down friction dampers to create an authentic feel of the original.

Five Bentley Blower Jnrs in total are undertaking a series of tests around the world that include real world driving and usage at different proving grounds as the 1930s period car is reborn in the modern day. Prices start at £90,000 plus tax.
