Aston Martin Vanquish return (pretty much) confirmed with new 824bhp V12
All will be vanquished - says Aston
Aston Martin has all but confirmed the return of the Vanquish was a teaser photo and video of what will most likely be its V12 engine. “All will be Vanquished” is what Aston has told us, and it doesn’t require a brain surgeon to figure that one out…
For its successor to the DBS Superleggera, Aston is going against the grain of its competitors who have steered towards electrification or hybrid power. The brand claims the new V12 engine is “the result of a complete re-design, targeting optimisation and improvement” and “refines every stage of the internal combustion process to achieve unprecedented performance and efficiency.” The new flagship model will have 824bhp and 1000Nm of torque compared to 759bhp and 900Nm in the outgoing Superleggera.
Looking further into the intricacies of the new V12, highlights include a strengthened cylinder block and conrods, redesigned cylinder heads incorporating reprofiled camshafts, plus new intake and exhaust ports. Repositioned spark plugs and new higher flowrate fuel injectors as well as higher speed turbochargers will increase performance.
Aston Martin Chief Technical Officer, Roberto Fedeli commented: “The V12 engine has long been a symbol of power and prestige, but it is also a statement of engineering passion and technical prowess. With 835PS (824bhp) and 1000Nm of torque this unparalleled engine represents nothing less than the dawn of a dazzling new V12 era for Aston Martin.”
The first generation Vanquish produced between 2001-2007 succeeded the Virage and also appeared in the James Bond film ‘Die Another Day’ (notable for its ability to turn invisible). It returned in 2012 as a concept, before going into production until 2018 with three iterations released during that period.
Aston says the new V12 engine “will feature across Aston Martin’s most exclusive and limited availability models” and will be seen for the first time when the new Vanquish makes its debut later in the year. While there are no specific details regarding price or release date, it is anticipated to be a limited production model.

Aston Martin Residences Miami officially open
In other Aston Martin news, the brand has officially completed its first ultra-luxury real estate project, Aston Martin Residences Miami. The opening of the project on 300 Biscayne Boulevard Way in downtown Miami coincides with the upcoming Miami Grand Prix, a race in which Aston will be hoping to improve after a shaky start to the season.
Situated on Miami’s waterfront, 99% of the 391 condominiums have been sold ahead of completion with 50 residents confirmed to be owners of an Aston Martin. The project was a collaboration between Aston Martin’s design team and world-leading architect Rodolfo Miani. Much of the work in designing the building and its interior took place at the brand’s state-of-the-art design studio in Gaydon, Warwickshire.
Features include doors with bespoke artisan Aston Martin handles, number plinths, and kestrel tan leather door tabs. The development boasts seven penthouses - all of which enjoy private pools and spacious terraces – complimented by a range of expansive one to five-bedroom residences and duplexes
Aston Martin will now turn its focus to similar projects in New York and Asia.
