Aston Martin Valkyrie inspires new luxury racing simulator
AMR-C01-R is the work of Aston Martin and Curv Racing Simulators
A pioneering collaboration between Aston Martin’s design team and Curv Racing Simulators has led to the creation of the ‘ultimate simulator’, the AMR-C01-R. It is an enhanced version of its predecessor - the AMR-C01 from 2020 - and is limited to just 50 examples.
Three-time Le Mans winner and simulator specialist Darren Turner has led the process on Curv’s side, while Aston Martin has thrown in plenty of signature touches. These include an Aston Martin Racing grille and a revised seating position inspired by the Valkyrie, which along with a revised switch panel, improves ergonomics and makes it easier to use, especially for taller drivers.
Other changes to the new AMR-C01-R sim include a sportier looking front grille, which has been redesigned to improve cooling.
Technical upgrades
The AMR-C01-R comes with a 49 inch G95C monitor with a 1000R curvature for a more immersive experience. On the screen, richer colours and deeper contrasts mirror a real race environment, while the refresh rate and response time have both improved to 240Hz and 1ms respectively.
The previous gen GPU graphics card has been swapped for the upgraded NVIDIA GeForce RTX 5090, and extra storage comes in the form of the Intel 14-generation processor, which has 32GB DDR5 of memory and 2TB M.2 SSD of storage, both double the previous capacity.
Future proofing has been kept in mind, with a redesigned PC chassis accommodating the latest hardware and allowing accessibility for future upgrades.
As close to driving an Aston Martin on-track
Aston Martin Chief Creative Officer: “With improved performance, and a seating position inspired by Valkyrie, this is as close to driving an Aston Martin on-track that a racer will experience. The design itself, like any Aston Martin, will fit into a residence as a sculptural work of art, not just a traditional racing simulator.”
Darren Turner, founder of Curv Racing Simulators: "The AMR-C01 was a game-changer when it launched in 2020, and the AMR-C01-R takes it to the next level. We’ve refined the ergonomics and performance, to make it even more immersive, intuitive, and future-proof. For those who demand the very best, this is the ultimate racing simulator."
How much is it?
Only 50 examples of the AMR-C01-R will be made, starting from £58,750 plus VAT. While this might understandably cause some of you to fall off your chairs, remember that the price of a real Valkyrie is around £2.5 million. So if this is as realistic as claimed, it might be something of a bargain.
The first deliveries are scheduled for April 2025.
