Alpine showcases past, present and future at Goodwood

Alpine showcased its rich motorsport and production heritage at last weekend’s Goodwood Members’ Meeting with an on-track demonstration of its A110 R Le Mans special edition and a host of other cars from its range.

The lightweight model was at home at one of the most iconic circuits in the UK and boasts a 0-62 mph acceleration of 3.9 seconds and a top speed of 177 mph. Only 100 have been made, with five owners of the 10 allocated to the UK present in a unique parade led by BTCC driver Gordon Shedden.

There was also a chance for members to take a closer look at Alpine’s hot hatch of the future, the A290_β after its appearance at the 2023 Festival of Speed. The concept was the blueprint for the upcoming A290, Alpine’s first ever 100% electric car that will make its world premiere at Le Mans.

The past, present and future of the brand were truly on display at Goodwood with several examples of the Alpine A110 Berlinette - produced between 1963 and 1977 - completing the set.
