Alpine A110 GT4+ is optimised for the racetrack

Seven years in the making

When Alpine revealed its A110 at the 87th Geneva International Motor Show in March 2017, it showed a car that honoured a classic Alpine vehicle in both name and design.

Soon after, Alpine - along with Signatech Automobiles - got to work on creating a refined version centred around its lightness, size and weight distribution.

The first iteration was the A110 GT4 from 2018, which immediately impressed, including a historic success in the GT4 International Cup in Bahrain.

In 2022, after the technical teams got their hands on the gearbox, turbo and engine block, the A110 GT4 Evo was born. Once again, success followed including a first title for Alpine in the 2023 French FFSA GT Championship, followed by the GT4 European Series crown in 2024.

Now sees the arrival of the latest and greatest iteration, the A110 GT4+, a car that Alpine calls “a significant evolution” of the Evo.

The A110 GT4+ details

Weighing just 1,080kg, the A110 GT4+ is powered by a 1.8 litre turbocharged 4-cylinder engine that produces up to 400bhp and has a sequential transmission.

A roll cage has been fitted in order for it to be FIA-approved, while other features include a racing bucket seat with six-point Sabelt harness, steering wheel with integrated display and controls, XAP paddle shift and adjustable ABS. Oh, and don’t forget the adjustable traction control and FIA-approved fuel cell that holds 95 litres.

Lessons have also been learned from the racetrack and rallying exploits of the A110 Rallye GT+. Its victory at the Rallye Mont-Blanc Morzine inspired the same supercharging and cooling systems used in the Rallye GT+, to be transferred over to the A110 GT4+.

Changes haven’t been limited to the inside, with subtle exterior changes improving aerodynamics. These include an openwork carbon fibre rear windscreen and a more durable front splitter.

Will it be racing?

As a seven-year homologation, the A110 GT4+ is now eligible for SRO Motorsports Group's GT4 ecosystem and several Grand Touring series. It has already performed on the track, winning its class in the final round of the 2024 Ultimate Endurance GT Cup. A driver line-up of Jim Pla, Julien Gilbert, and Jean Mathieu Leandri dominated the field in the six hour event at Circuit Paul Ricard in France.

How much does it cost?

The A110 GT4+ is available now for just over £184,000, excluding VAT. Existing Alpine A110 GT4s and Alpine A110 GT4 Evos can be upgraded for £28,500, excluding VAT.
