Volkswagen Offers up to £4,500 in ULEZ Scrappage Scheme

Volkswagen will offer up to £4,500 as part of a scrappage scheme created to help people affected by the expansion of the Ultra Low Emission Zone (ULEZ) across London. Drivers with older vehicles which fail to meet the minimum emissions standard are now facing daily charges of £12.50 since the changes from August 29th. The scheme may provide a small crumb of comfort in what is already a divisive issue in an uncertain financial climate.

Ranging from £1,750 to £4,500, Volkswagen’s offer depends on the model chosen to replace an old car and is available as an alternative to current offers from the brand. Electric, petrol and diesel cars qualify for the scheme, including the ID, Polo and three small SUVs. The full list of models and cash discounts are as follows:

Polo - £1,750
ID.3 (original variant) - £3,500
ID.3 (new variant) - £2,500
ID.4 - £4,000
ID.5 - £4,500
T-Cross - £1,750
Taigo - £2,000
T-Roc - £2,500

The cash discounts from VW are available to anyone in London’s 32 boroughs who qualifies for the Mayor of London’s scrappage scheme, which provides financial assistance to help Londoners scrap non-compliant cars, motorcycles and wheelchair accessible vehicles. The scheme offers up to £2,000 or a combination of cash and public transport passes.

The offer ends on December 31st 2023 and discounts can be used at any Volkswagen Retailer in the UK, but customers must be able to prove their eligibility for the ULEZ scrappage scheme.
