Urban Automotive Predicts 5 Modification Trends in 2024

Bespoke modified of luxury brands, Urban Automotive, has revealed its predictions for the top five modification trends of 2024. There has been an increase in the popularity of bespoke modifications in recent years with car owners wanting to make their vehicles as unique as possible. Let’s take a look at what has made the top five….

1. Flat-faced alloys

Flat-faced forged alloy wheels are big in the USA and seem to be appearing on UK roads as car owners go for a more retro look. Whilst they aid aerodynamics, they continue to divide opinion in the automotive space. This hasn’t stopped high profile clients of Urban Automotive have opting for them, including Kim Kardashian who had 24” custom forged Cactus Jack x Forgiato wheels fitted on her Urban Automotive Range Rover.

2. Pastel vinyl wraps

Satin black has been and will remain the most popular vehicle vinyl wrap colour as customers fulfil their wishes to have a Batmobile-style car. However, recently it seems the brighter the car the better, as 2024 will see pastel aesthetics more frequently on roads around the country.

Urban Automotive is a close associate of Yiannimize, whose transformations include Jack Grealish’s Lamborghini Performante Urus, turning it from its original black to a new Tiffany Blue shade. Well known brands like Rolls-Royce and Bentley are also joining the party as they launch their optional Sagano Green and Jetstream Blue colourway paints respectively.

Yianni Charalambous, chief executive officer at Yiannimize commented “We’ve seen wrap trends develop over time. A few years ago, it was the crazy chrome, iridescent and bright colours that celebrities and footballers wanted, but as wrapping becomes the norm, it’s the more subtle shades like satin black and matte metallic grey that have taken over.

Recently though we’ve seen customers opt for more adventurous colours, especially pastel tones which are gaining in popularity. No doubt we’ll still have the mainstay of dark, matte colours that are ‘classics’, but it’s nice to see our clientele experimenting with new ideas too and we expect this to continue into 2024.”

3. Bright interiors

Car owners aren’t just modifying the exterior of their cars, but interiors are turning bright and bold also. Urban Automotive recently worked with Absolute Motors to turn kickboxer Rico Verhoeven’s Mercedes G-Class Widetrack with a custom teal blue interior retrim to contrast with its understated exterior colour.

4. Heritage-inspired builds

Restomods have become more and more popular in the last five years as owners look to combine iconic designs with a modern approach. Urban Automotive’s Signature Series often includes heritage inspired projects in 2023, the company launched its own take on Land Rover’s 75th Anniversary Edition Defender.

5. Visual Carbon Fibre

Urban Automotive is known for its use of carbon fibre, however, there is a growing popularity in displaying exposed carbon body panels. Although it isn’t a new thing, companies are providing ways for customers to create a completely customisable look unique to their tastes.

Simon Dearn, owner and head of design at Urban Automotive, commented: “As bespoke modifiers of some of the most coveted luxury vehicles in the world, we’re always keeping a close eye on the styles and trends that could lead to the next big thing. Our clients are often high-profile individuals who are willing to take risks and push the boundaries, and we’re proud to deliver such a bespoke service for them alongside our trusted specialist build partners across the globe.”
