The Little Car Company takes on the Tamiya Wild One MAX Launch Edition

After the introduction of the Baby Bugatti II Championship last month, The Little Car Company, the world expert in partnering with elite car manufacturers to produce authentic scale electric cars, has revealed the first details of its latest project, which will be publicly unveiled this summer.

Starting with a limited run of 100, the Tamiya Wild One MAX Launch Edition is based on the original Tamiya Wild One radio-controlled car from 1985. Offering increased size, usability and performance, the Launch Edition will bring the Wild One into the modern day on a whole new level, and other versions offering a variety in performance are due to be available at a later date.

The Launch Edition will be powered by eight removal battery packs, with a total capacity of 14.4kWh. The kerb weight of the vehicle is expected to be 500kg and a top speed of 60mph is the aim.

Due to industry-wide supply delays, production of the Launch Edition will finally begin in early 2024, with all cars being fully built by The Little Car Company before being delivered to customers. The feedback of deposit holders was sought throughout the design and development process, with many upgrades made to the car based on input received. One of the questions asked was whether they would be interested in a road legal option for the car. It is sure to draw attention from onlookers and predictably, 95% said yes, so The Little Car Company have developed the Launch Edition to come with a road legal pack in the UK and EU. Not content with just that, another wish of the customers has been fulfilled also, with the cockpit able to accommodate two people.

This year, the company will focus on conducting performance and durability tests over the spring and summer, before specific details regarding figures, range and pricing are revealed towards the end of 2023.
