New Turnkey Shelby Cobras Initially Exclusive to UK

In a year that marks 100 years since the birth of Carroll Shelby, new CSX10000 Shelby Cobras will be available as turnkey cars for the first time in almost 60 years, with the UK initially the only place they’ll be available through specialist retailer Clive Sutton. Inspired by the 1962-67 Shelby Cobra, this latest evolution has been given a new 5.0-litre Ford Coyote V8 engine shared by the latest Mustang. It can be supercharged to 700 horsepower is one of a whole host of other features to bring the car to the modern day.

In terms of shape, nothing has changed and the CSX10000 series cars sport the famous Shelby Cobra silhouette we know and love. There’s power steering and power-assisted 4-pot front brake callipers and the car will be available in both left and right-hand drive. The original 15-inch Cobra wheels have been replaced by specially designed 18-inch ones and feature Continental Extreme Contact Sport tyres just in case you want to take it on track. For the highest level of performance, buyers can request the supercharged version that combines 700hp and 550lb-ft of torque thanks to a Whipple twin-screw 3.0-litre supercharger added to the car.

Dials and gauges are recreated inside the cockpit to match the original Shelby Cobra, however, the interior has been given a more luxurious feel and customers can choose from a variety of colours.

M. Neil Cummings, CEO of Carroll Shelby Licencing: “Our founder, Carroll Shelby would be impressed with this latest evolution of his original Cobra that he first created in 1962 after he won Le Mans as a driver in 1959, then turned to his dream of designing and building his own special world-beating sports car.”

Clive Sutton, founder and CEO: “It is an immense honour to be the first market globally to receive the Shelby Cobra CSX10000. As an officially recognised and licensed Shelby Cobra, the car will provide a strong investment opportunity alongside its spine-tingling performance and retro styling.”

Clive Sutton is now taking orders for the 2024 Cobra CSX10000 in the UK, with prices starting from £195,000. The US and other global markets will then follow in due course.
