New Rubber Ducky Volkswagen T-Cross now available

When Volkswagen released its new T-Cross in the UK at the start of the year, it promised a revamped design, improved standard equipment, new technology and an interior befitting of the rest. Three new colours were added to the model range in the form of Clear blue metallic, Kings red metallic and a sporty yellow.

Volkswagen UK decided to let its followers on social media choose the name for the new yellow paint colour and in a ‘Boaty McBoatface’ style capturing of people’s imagination, the winning name with 46% of the vote was bath time inspired Rubber Ducky.

“Some might say putting a paint name to public vote is a quackers idea,” said Oliver Lowe, T-Cross Product Manager at Volkswagen UK. “But we were confident people wouldn’t get in a flap while trying to decide on a new name, and we think Rubber Ducky yellow was a really eggs-cellent choice.”

While the styling may have been divisive to some, reviews have been generally positive for the T-Cross and the car has been praised for its practicality and raised driving position for a small SUV.

The new T-Cross in Rubber Ducky yellow is available in UK showrooms from £23,965 RRP on the road.
