New McLaren GTS Revealed

McLaren has revealed the GTS, a replacement for the McLaren GT that has been given something of a refresh for 2024.

While much of the styling remains the same as what we saw on the GT, a new lower front bumper section with sculpted air intakes helps channel air into the car’s radiator system and gives the GTS a more aggressive look. New, taller air scoops are also seen on the rear fenders and enable greater airflow into the 4.0-litre twin-turbocharged V8 engine - which has been slightly altered to produce an extra 15bhp giving it 626bhp overall.

Minor, incremental improvements are what will set the GTS apart from the GT and the weight of the car is 10kg lighter than its predecessor, the GTS comes in at 1,520kg. Performance has been improved as a result, with a 0-62mph time of 3.2 seconds (0.1 seconds quicker than before), 0-124mph time of 8.9 and a top speed of 203mph.

The changes that have been made led McLaren to claim that this is the best of its class when it comes to power-to-weight ratio.

Inside the GTS, the interior remains similar to what was seen before but new colour and trim options are available with Softgrain Aniline leather and contrast stitching. The optional electrochromic glass roof also remains from before and can be tinted. A 10.25-inch information display is coupled with a 7-inch central infotainment display. Music can be played through its 12 speaker Bowers & Wilkins sound system and six colour ambient lighting can be changed to suit your mood.

Pricing has yet to be confirmed but the GTS is expected to cost more than the £165,000 plus that the GT went for. Potential customers can now place their orders ahead of first deliveries in 2024.
