Morgan Returns to the USA with Super 3

After its initial February 2022 launch, Morgan Motor Company announced the arrival of Super 3 to the United States in a return to the country for the Worcestershire marque.

The first vehicles have already reached the country and are available to view, test drive and order through Morgan’s network of dealerships. Handcrafting sports cars since 1909, Morgan is one of the world’s pre-eminent coachbuilders and blends traditional craftsmanship and modern technology. The historical facilities in the Malvern Hills are the only place in the world where Morgan cars are built and every car is handmade to order, using ash aluminium and leather.

Morgan’s current line up comprises Plus Four, Plus Six and Super 3 and after its release last year, the Super 3 was met with critical acclaim from customers and journalists in Europe after trading its famous motorcycle based V-twin engine in for a car based three-cylinder. Whilst being fun to drive, the Super 3 had not lost any of its character. Its £43,165 starting price may have been deemed slightly excessive for what many would be described as a fun toy but nonetheless, it earned overall plaudits.

This Super 3, however, comes with a few subtle differences from its European equivalent certain requirements have been met in order to bring it to the US market, including headlights within the body shape of the vehicle, new rear lights and indicators.

Before Super 3, the last Morgan available in the United States was the Morgan 3 Wheeler which ultimately ceased production in 2019. However, as well as Super 3, the company is trying to push through plans to bring Plus Four to the region.

Like our recent trip to The Alvis Car Company in Warwickshire, it's good to see that some of the old methods of car production are being continued, even as the automotive world develops beyond comprehension year after year.
