Already boasting a bold reputation for its eccentric conversions, German luxury car modification brand Mansory has put its spin on the Ferrari Purosangue with the unveiling of the Pugnator.

Presented as part of the Monaco Yacht Show, the Pugnator - which stands for ‘the competitor or contestant’ in Latin - is a complete conversion inside and out, taking the 2023 released Purosangue and transforming it to the point where it has become almost unrecognisable.

Instantly catching the eye are carbon fibre additions to the metallic red “Vermillion” painted exterior. These, along with air intakes, are designed to improve aerodynamics and downforce, while the two-part roof edge spoiler is bolted onto the rear for good measure. It is a carbon fibre party everywhere you look. If you can avert your eyes away from all of that, you’ll see newly designed ‘FC.5’ rims, used for the first time on the Pugnator and soon to be available on other Mansory products. Glossy black rims are combined with high-performance tyres for extra precision, performance and comfort on the road and track.

Modifications have been made under the bonnet to the 6.5-liter naturally aspirated V12 Purosangue with enhancements to the engine control unit and a new sports exhaust system, giving the Pugnator a maximum output of 755hp and 730Nm of torque. The exhaust system includes two sports catalytic converters and two tailpipes form part of the newly designed rear, all made from carbon fibre, of course.

Buyers can spec the interior using a choice of leather, colours, quilting and carbon designs. The launch vehicle shows the inside kitted out with ivory coloured leather and contrasting red highlights, with the Mansory logo visible on the headrests and seatbelts.

It is a conversion that will certainly divide opinion, to put it mildly. Ferrari conversions are often looked upon with a degree of disdain such is the brand’s historic importance in the automotive world. Only seven examples of the Mansor Pugnator will be produced, and there is no word on price yet.
