Last Challenge for Hennessey Exorcist Camaro ZL1 ‘Final Edition’

Texas-based hypercar manufacturer Hennessey has announced an end of production limited ‘Final Edition’ series of the company’s famed Exorcist Camaro ZL1.

Originally introduced in 2017, the Exorcist was created to ‘slay the Dodge Demon’, a reference to the rival supercharge 840 hp Challenger. Now it is back for one last time, celebrating the end of Chevrolet’s high-performance combustion-only car.

The ‘Final Edition’ is tuned for the racing circuit and day-to-day driving and only 57 will be made, a reference to the 57 years since the Camaro first entered production. Each engine has a unique ‘Final Edition X of 57’ etched on to it and is accompanied by Exorcist ‘Final Edition’ graphics on the exterior.

Hennessey - experts in ‘making cars faster’ - have taken the stock form Chevrolet Camaro ZL1 and fitted a bigger, high-flow supercharger to the 6.2-litre V8, along with a high-flow air induction, uprated auxiliary fuel system, injectors and pump.

A new Engine Management software upgrade has been added in and this enhancement, along with the engine overhaul, results in a 54% increase in power (1000hp) and a 49% boost in torque. 0-60mph can be achieved in a staggering 2.1 seconds and the top speed comes in at 217mph.

In March, Dodge announced its dragstrip-tuned Challenger SRT Demon 170 with an E85-fueled 1,025 hp. Despite the Challenger’s boost in power, the Hennessey’s Exorcist Camaro ZL1 ‘Final Edition’ isn’t shy on a dragstrip and can boast a quarter mile time of 9.57 seconds.

Now, we just need to see that race.

John Hennessey, company founder and CEO: “Our comprehensive upgrade to the Camaro ZL1 is one of my all-time favourites. The chassis, suspension, and powerplant work seamlessly together, so all the driver experiences is raw, unbridled horsepower. There’s nothing else like our Exorcist, so we’re eager to share this special limited edition with fans of this iconic car before it’s gone forever.”
