Fleet of 50 McLarens to grace London Concours

The London Concours, which takes place in June 2024, will welcome a fleet of 50 McLarens to the grounds of the Honourable Artillery Company in the heart of the city.

Scheduled for the opening day of the event, this year’s supercar showcase on Tuesday 4th June will feature a spectacle of models from the British marque including the McLaren F1. The F1 - launched in 1992 - was, at the time, the only road-legal vehicle able to achieve over 200mph.

In 2010, the brand began to put greater emphasis on producing road cars with the birth of McLaren Automotive and a year later the McLaren MP4-12C was revealed. Able to do 0-60mph in 2.8 thanks to its 592hp twin turbo V8, it signalled the start of an exciting period for the Woking-based brand leading to the production of the hybrid-powered McLaren P1. Senna and Elva.

A lineup of more accessible sports cars was also released starting with the 540C, 570S, and 570GT. New models followed, starting with the McLaren 600LT in 2018, and 620R in 2019, before the McLaren Artura showed what was possible in the Sports car section. Oh, and who could forget the McLaren 720S, introduced in 2017 and now recently replaced by the 750S. Expect to see these, and more, at London Concours in June.

In McLaren’s formative years, the focus was very much on racing. After being founded by Bruce McLaren in 1963, the marque clinched its first F1 World Constructor’s championship 11 years later in 1974. McLaren has gone on to win a further seven constructor’s titles and 12 driver’s titles in F1 since with seven of those driver’s titles occuring after a merger with Project 4 Racing Team in 1984.

Last year, McLaren celebrated its 60th anniversary with a series of special events and liveries used during various races.

Andrew Evans, London Concours Director, said: “We are thrilled with this spectacular addition to London Concours 2024, as we welcome 50 McLaren supercars on the opening day – a first in our event's history. This showcase not only enhances the experience of our summer garden party but also provides attendees with a unique opportunity to witness the evolution of McLaren's most iconic models.

“We are committed to delivering an unparalleled experience, and the infusion of McLaren's rich history and innovation aligns seamlessly with our mission to celebrate the pinnacle of automotive excellence.”
