Caterham ‘Project V’ to be Unveiled on July 12

Caterham will unveil ‘Project V’, its new coupé concept car, on July 12th as it looks towards the future with a completely new and radical design model. The fully electric model will then be presented at the Goodwood Festival of Speed a day later, showing the drastic departure from the Seven to the packed crowd in attendance.

The car is the creation of Chief Designer Anthony Jannarelly, who recently joined Caterham and will work with the company on upcoming projects. We may not be able to see much yet other than a silhouette from the dimly lit image, but Caterham promises that while dramatically different from previous efforts, Project V will retain the core values of lightness, simplicity and a driver-focused experience. An owner of a Caterham 7 for ten years, Jannarelly is surely the man to understand and help the company maintain these values.

The British company are looking towards the future and has partnered with Italdesign to bring that vision to life. Manufacturing of the show car has taken place at Italidesign’s headquarters in Turin, Italy.

We all know Caterham for creating cars that are brilliant on track and now that it is looking towards full electrification, many questions will be raised in the coming weeks about the company’s future. Hopefully, we will get some answers at Goodwood however, one thing is for sure, this looks like a car to get excited about.
