‘Brick To The Future’: Kia EV6 made of LEGO®

When John Marcar recently reviewed the Kia EV6, he called it ‘remarkable’, praising its value compared to other vehicles in its class, as well as the technology that comes with it. It is probably the most revolutionary and highly decorated Kia of all time and a concrete ambassador of Kia’s shift to electrification. It was launched in 2021 and is the first of 15 fully electric models to be introduced globally by Kia by 2027.

That’s all well and good, but the question on everyone’s lips is - how would a LEGO® equivalent EV6 look? Well, Kia has provided the answer by exhibiting a model of the Kia EV6 at Milan Design Week.

Known as ‘Brick To The Future’, this 1:1 scale model is a symbol of Kia’s path towards sustainable mobility, calling the infinite shapes that the bricks allow people of all ages to create. Made from 350,000 bricks and taking 800 hours to complete over four months, the work was commissioned by Kia Italy and carried out by BrickVision, a company in Reggio Emilia.

BrickVision was founded by Riccardo Zangelmi, who turned his childhood passion for LEGO® bricks into a successful business. ‘Brick To The Future’ was planned down to the smallest detail, with even a functioning lighting system to show the EV6’s distinctive lighting personality from all angles. The whole process of the build can be discovered on the Kia Italy YouTube Channel

Back to the world of real, working cars, we know the EV6 will soon be joined by the EV9, a futuristic three-row SUV developed with the same technology and offering fully electric motoring and space for up to seven people.

‘Brick To The Future’ will be displayed during the 2023 Milan Design Week from 17 April 2023, then exhibited at the Kia Energy House in Rome.
