Allesley - The New British Luxury Coachbuilding Brand
Say hello to Allesley, a new British brand that hopes to become one of the big hitters in the luxury automotive coachbuilding space. The new company will be covering all bases from its Coventry facility - an area regarded as the home of coachbuilding - taking ideas from a blank sheet of paper to a fully engineered car. From one-off commissions to low volume production runs and even supporting well known brands in enhancing their vehicles, Allesley will aim to do it all. To establish itself at the top of the luxury field, a high level of clientele will be targeted, with OEMs and high-net-worth individuals as its preferred customers.
The company is spearheaded by CEO Paul Abercrombie, who has spent most of his working life in the luxury property, marine and aeronautical sectors and Chairman Chris Devane, who has a wealth of experience in the automotive world having worked at Group Lotus and Bentley Motors in several senior leadership roles. Together, they have gathered a highly experienced workforce of designers, engineers and people in production who have all had decades of experience in leading luxury automotive brands. Traditional coachbuilding skills will be combined with the latest digital and virtual design methods to create a level of highly bespoke and redefined cars.
Allesley will be based at the same 1930s Art Deco site as partner and leading concept car and prototype builder HPL Prototypes (HPL) and will make use of their CAD design studios, which offer a range of state-of-the-art services, when building their own prototypes. In its 25 years of existence, HPL has supported the design and manufacture of many concepts for a plethora of global OEMs.
The team at Allesley will aim to push the limits of innovation and make clients’ automotive dreams come true. For ultra-high net worth individuals, the company will work with them to create one-off commissions from even something as basic as a sketch on a page.
Next year, we’ll get to see the first offering from Allesley as it unveils an ultra-luxury SUV - a private commission that the team have enhanced to a new level.
Paul Abercrombie, CEO of Allesley: “Allesley’s first commission will redefine the standards by which bespoke vehicles are judged. It will blend world-class precision design and manufacturing with unparalleled quality, underscoring our position as the new global leader in ultra-luxurious coachbuilding, setting the tone for what will become a growing portfolio of some of the most exclusive vehicles ever seen.”
