Hennessey’s Last Stand Models Celebrate Dodge’s Hellcat V8 Engine

Texas-based hypercar manufacturer Hennessey has released limited editions of the Dodge SRT Challenger and Charger. Limited to just 50 exclusive examples, the cars, known as ‘Last Stand’ models, honour the nine-year run of Dodge’s supercharged 6.2-litre Hellcat HEMI V8 engine.

Comprised of multiple businesses, Hennessey has re-engineered more than 12,000 vehicles, delivering its mission of 'making fast cars faster' thanks to its team of expert technicians and own test track. Whilst it has specialised in modifying sports and muscle cars since 1991, the company has all boosted trucks, and SUVs and boasts its hypercars - the Venom GT and the Venom F5.

Now it has turned its attention to celebrating the final run of Dodge’s supercharged 6.2-litre Hellcat HEMI V8 engine.

With previous outputs of up to 807hp, the engine has been given the once over by Hennessey’s technicians who have fitted it with a larger supercharger, upgraded fuel injectors, a high flow induction system, pulley upgrade, stainless steel long tube headers, high flow catalytic converters, and a crankcase ventilation system. This has raised to output to 1,000 hp and 948 lb-ft of torque, only 25hp shy of Hennessey’s flagship SRT Demon 170.

The Hennessey upgrades give the ‘Last Stand’ editions a 0-60mph time of 2.8 seconds and a quarter mile time of 9.9 seconds at 141mph.

Sitting on top of 20 inch alloy wheels - available in gloss black or graphite colour - the H1000 'Last Stand' editions are also fitted with a new rear spoiler, front splitter, side skirts and rear diffuser. All made from carbon fibre, they help give the car a lightness that further differentiates them from their originals. To give them that extra uniqueness, each of the 50 limited edition Challenger and Charger models is finished with a plaque denoting the serial number.

John Hennessey, company founder and CEO: "The Challenger and Charger are two of our most popular models, with monstrous horsepower in a comfortable and capable chassis. While it's sad to see the 6.2-litre HEMI go, I'm pleased to commemorate its near-decade run with our unique 'Last Stand' models that pair the 1,000-horsepower output with the sleek look of carbon fibre and other exterior performance upfits."

The H1000 'Last Stand' upgrade is available on 2021-2023 Dodge SRT Challenger and Charger models and is available for global shipping.
